April 26 - 28, 2024, Methow Valley Back Country Horsemen Annual Spring Fling Ride!

Location: Beaver Creek Campground in Twisp, WA

3-day event, Dutch Oven potluck Friday evening April 26th, ride out at 10 am Saturday April 27th, Mtn Meals Catering dinner 3:30 to 5:30 Saturday afternoon - pay cash directly to head chef Levi Knox, tentative campfire/singing Saturday evening, on your own for lunches/breakfast. Call Mary McHugh MV Chapter President for information at 509 449-0715 No Stallions, dogs not allowed on the ride (WAC 220-500-170). Dogs on leash if at the campground.   Discover Pass required. No potable water, bring your own drinking water. Animal water at the creek. This is a Dept of Wildlife campground at Beaver Creek, just north off Hwy 20 driving east from Twisp, WA towards Okanogan, WA, ride signs will be at the intersection turning north off the highway.

June 2024: 

June 1, 2024, Peninsula Chapter, Youth Trails Clinic, Sage Horse Camp

Two-day camp for equestrians ages 10-18. Young riders will work in 5 areas:
1. Arena instruction on basic trail riding skills such as rider distance, turn on forehand or hind quarters
2. Schooling over basic train obstacles with a coach
3. Training in interactions with other users on the trail, using '3S' (Stop, Stand & Speak) techniques
4. Using tools and PPE to do trail work (nippers, and loppers, hand sawing for older kids)
5. LNT at the Trailhead
Parents/grandparents are welcome to join in the activities.
$50 per family, scholarships are available.

Vendors Wanted!! Please contact us if you would like to sell your new or gently used items at our fundraiser on 6-22-24, for 20.00 a space. No space limitations. Check out our LNT booth, Packing demonstration and more. Friday night 6-21-24 set up. Overnight campers welcome for a fee of 10.00.
Swap meet starts Saturday, 6-22-24 @ 9:00 AM.

Join the Skagit Chapter for a Prize Ride on Saturday, July 13th, 2024! The ride will be held at the Les Hilde Trailhead in the Harry Osborne State Forest. Enjoy a scenic ride, compete in games of skill ($10 each) to win prizes, and support a great cause! Camping is available Friday through Sunday. We hope to see you there! July 19 - 21, 2024, Northeast Chapter, 8th Annual Vicki Gish Memorial Ride

The 8th Annual Vicki Gish Memorial Ride July 19-21, 2024.  It is three days of riding and camaraderie.  Trails will be marked, and everyone goes out at their own pace.  There is approximately 70 miles of trails there.  This is a campout if anyone wants to stay overnight.  There will be port-a-potties and there is horse water available.  Lots of room to camp.  Saturday night there is a potluck, and we sit around the campfire and tell Vicki stories or solve the world problems!
