Dear BCHW Members,

We are done with the initial planning for this year’s State Wide Work Party. We will be adhering to our state COVID-19 reopening guidance plans. We have conducted phone calls with the Forest Service staff and at this time we are planning on holding the event but with some changes.  At this year’s event, we will all be asked to take precautions to protect our volunteers which include extra PPE’s and following appropriate social distancing as necessary. We will review our work teams and break them up into smaller groups and try to keep teams working together for the duration of the event.

Dates:  June 30th to July 5th

  • June 30th Travel Day (Safety Meeting 5-6:30 p.m.)
  • July 1 thru 4th Trail Work Days
  • July 5th Travel Day

Location Areas: Using “Google Maps” starting from Tonasket enter ending location Long Swamp Camp Ground. Signs will be placed along road in key areas to help your navigation to camp area. All camps will be visible from main road.

We will plan on smaller groups camping at a few different trail heads reducing the amount of volunteers at each camp. We plan to have a kitchen and meals in working order this year but meals will only be lunch and dinner. Meals will be delivered to the various camps in the late afternoon.  Note: This means folks will need to bring coolers to house their lunches for the following work day. This is all being done to meet strict safety protocols and provide a rewarding safe environment for our volunteers.

We are requiring those who plan on attending to fill out the meal survey. Click here to access it.

This will assist with meal preparations and give us an idea of the work we can accomplish.  The meal survey is due by midnight June 3rd.

Thank you for your continued support in these particularly trying times of planning and carrying out our mission of working on trails.
