NOVA Advisory Committee Position Opening

The Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation (IAC) is seeking applicants to fill an opening for a representative of the hunting-fishing community on its NOVA Advisory Committee.  I encourage interested persons to apply by completing the attached form, also available on our website (http://www.iac.wa.gov/ --click "News & Events", "NOVA").
The position carries a term of three years, beginning August 2004.  IAC's goal is to ensure that Committee appointees represent the full range of Washington's geographic, cultural, gender, physical ability, and age characteristics.  A copy of Committee Policies and Charter (provides information regarding the purpose, duties, membership, and selection of the committee) is available by contacting IAC.

It could be said that an ideal person for this position understands the needs of hunters-fishers and also regularly communicates with these recreationists.  Such a person has some familiarity with NOVA Grant Program issues, has the time and interest to participate in Committee activities, actively works for win-win solutions and seeks creative solutions.

New grant proposals (technical review is November 3-29, 2004; project evaluations are January 24-28, 2005; and post project evaluations are February 15, 2005).

The application deadline is July 31, 2004. Please convey any questions and your completed application (attached) to Greg Lovelady (360/ 902-3008, Gregl@iac.wa.gov, PO Box 40917, Olympia, 98504-0917).
