National Trails Day
Back Country Horsemen of Washington State (BCHW) invite the public to join volunteers to celebrate National Trails Day on Saturday, June 5, 2010. BCHW and hundreds of volunteers will be out repairing trails, fixing bridges, clearing brush and more to get ready for the summer season. National Trails Day is a wonderful opportunity for families to volunteer their time to help improve and maintain Washington State trails for recreational purposes, including horse back riding, fishing, camping, mountain biking, boating, etc.
It is important to keep our parks and trails open so Americans have opportunities for physical activities that increase longevity, well-being, help children and adults maintain a healthy weight, and can reduce the risk of obesity and other related health problems.
For more information about volunteering for National Trails Day, call Dick Yarboro at
360-264-2263 or Joyce Willms at 360-236-0923. Please visit Back Country Horsemen of Washington States website at www.BCHW.org for a list of National Trails Day events in your area.
